Time to get your pet desexed? At Killarney Vale Veterinary Clinic, we conduct neutering procedures for cats and dogs on the Central Coast. Desexing your pet is the most effective way to prevent unplanned pregnancies and often helps pets live longer, healthier lives.
We can neuter your companion at any age, but we recommend desexing your pet when they are six months old. This is before they reach puberty and start to exhibit behaviours like 'marking' (urinating to mark their territory) or become attracted to the opposite sex.

There are many benefits to desexing your cat or dog, both for you as the owner and for your pet. Neutering can help to reduce or eliminate problematic behaviours such as roaming, howling/barking and urine marking. Your pet will also be less likely to fight other animals, so you’ll be able to reduce the risk of them contracting diseases or being injured.
Not only that, desexing can also lengthen your cat or dog’s lifespan. On average, neutered animals live around three years longer than those who haven’t been desexed. Get in touch to learn more.
